Days 1, 2
MOSI-OA-TUNYA NATIONAL PARK
Your safari begins just north of the Botswana border in Zambia, only seven miles upstream from the world-renowned Victoria Falls. Set in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Toka Leya perches on the banks of the Zambezi River, where it's normal to see rambling elephants, grunting pods of hippo, and idle crocodiles. The camp is a perfectly placed outpost from which to explore. Game drives, fishing, rhino tracking, and adrenaline-pumping adventures are just a few of the awesome activities on offer; or you can choose to simply relax in the comfort of camp and take in the stunning surrounds and comings and goings of wildlife.
Days 3, 4, 5
Located on Hunda Island in the floodplains of Botswana, Tubu Tree Camp is a canvas oasis perched in the treetops above the Okavango Delta. Set in one of Africa's most wildlife-rich areas, Tubu is an excellent place to embark on both game drives and boat rides in traditional mokoro canoes. You can even try your hand at catch-and-release fishing in the reed-framed Okavango waterways for an extra unique spin on safari. And keep an eye out for leopards, which are plentiful in the area.
Staying at Tubu Tree is like staying in a giant treehouse. The eight private tents of Tubu are connected via wooden walkways raised above the delta floor, and for those with kids in tow, a larger family tent is available as well. Take in the scenery from your private deck or join the rest of your group at a spectacular open bar area in the shade of a marula tree—whose fruit is the source of a delicious South African liqueur, Amarula.
Days 6, 7, 8
CARRY ON TO THE SOUTH-EASTERN OKAVANGO FLOODPLAIN
Located in an exclusive concession of more than 64,000 acres, Qorokwe Camp is a special high density wildlife area in the south-eastern Okavango area. Right next to the well known Moremi Game Reserve, you’ll get to experience the same number of exciting sightings while having a more private safari experience. With eight tented suites (plus one family unit with its own splash pool), you’ll enjoy this part of the Okavango in solitude. The plush digs don’t hurt either! Qorokwe features beautiful design and architecture, and it’s also one of our GO camps that strives to support local communities in all that they do. By staying here you’ll be building a foundation for conservation and improvement on the Qorokwe Consession and beyond.
