Explore Southern Chile at the Conveniently Located Remota Patagonia

PUERTO NATALES, CHILE

Situated just beyond the foothills of world-famous Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Remota is one of our favorite places to base your Chilean outdoor adventure.

The gorgeous lodge features a low-profile design, and although it boasts 72 rooms, you’ll feel right at home with it’s cozy, quiet, and contemporary decor that draws the outside in. Inspired by historical Patagonian sheep shearing sheds that are slanted to effortlessly diffuse the sometimes harsh wind in the region, views greet you at every window whether you’re doing laps in the pool, reading a novel in one of the many lounge areas, or sipping a vino tinto at the bar. And like many of our best outposts around the globe, Remota places a big focus on sustainability. A green roof provides insulation and thermal windows and vents assist in regulating a comfortable temperature within, while plastic bottles have been replaced by stainless steel and recycling program is in full force. We also love that 90% of the staff that works at Remota lives in nearby Puerto Natales, thereby supporting the local economy and community.

During your stay at Remota, you can explore Torres del Paine National Park and other lesser-visited mountains, glaciers, forests, and paleontological sites with ease, returning to your home base each evening to relax in the gorgeous lodge. Mountain biking, fly fishing, horseback riding, and hiking are all great options to delve into this sensational part of the world, and Remota makes it a breeze with bilingual guides and more than 10 years of experience in the area.

"Nearby, there is a world biosphere reserve of natural and cultural beauty in the National Park Torres del Paine, and in addition there are mountains and glaciers, lagoons, rivers and forests, and livestock farms located on immense prairies where ancestral indigenous cultures used to live."
