ZAMBIA ROGUE LION SAFARI

MOSI-OA-TUNYA NATIONAL PARK | BUSANGA PLAINS | LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK | LUANGWA VALLEY

Zambia, sitting just above Zimbabwe in southern Africa, is a country that retains the charms of Africa of the past. But don't be mistaken—there's nothing old-world about this nine-day itinerary.

Instead, it surprises and delights with three sensational camps in three national parks. From the smoke that thunders of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, to the remote plains of Busanga in the Kafue National Park, and finally to the spectacular scenery and wildlife of the Lower Zambezi National Park, this GO safari is a visceral and adventurous experience for the history books and for the whole family.

Days 1, 2

Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park

TOKA LEYA CAMP

Set in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, TokaLeya perches on the banks of the Zambezi River, where it's normal to see rambling elephants, grunting pods of hippo, and idle crocodiles. Only seven miles upstream from the world-renowned Victoria Falls, the camp is a perfectly placed base-camp from which to explore from. Game drives, fishing, rhino tracking, and adrenaline-pumping adventures are just a few of the awesome activities on offer; or you can choose to simply relax in the comfort of camp and take in the stunning surrounds and comings and goings of wildlife.

Days 3, 4, 5

Busanga Plains

SHUMBA CAMP

Set right in the center of the Busanga Plains, Shumba (meaning "lion") has been appropriately named after the lions seen in the area. With easy access to permanent water and views stretching 360 degrees across the plains, Shumba Camp offers you the ultimate experience combining wildlife and luxury. From here, hundreds of red lechwe, puku and roan gather to feast on the golden grasses. Your activities will include game drives, guided walks, and seasonal boating. In August, September, and October you are treated to an exhilarating hot air ballooning excursion concluding with a sumptuous champagne breakfast.

Days 6, 7

Lower Zambezi National Park

ANABEZI LUXURY TENTED CAMP

The next two nights will be spent in Anabezi Luxury Tented Camp. The camp is found in the Lower Zambezi National Park, one of Zambia’s three significant wildlife sanctuaries. Blending absolute luxury with complete rustic authenticity, the camp’s close proximity to the Zambezi River allows for both land and water game viewing activities including game drives, boating, fishing, canoeing, and walking safaris.  Here you’ll enjoy prime access to the lush landscape where the Zambezi River and the Mushika Flood Plain meet, visit any time of day and you’ll be greeted by a cast of Zambia’s best game on full display.

Days 8, 9, 10, 11

Luangwa Valley

CHINZOMBO SAFARI CAMP

For your final nights we’ve found a true gem of a safari camp to serve as the perfect capstone to your Zambian safari.  Set amidst 60 acres of private land along the Luangwa River six villas wait to greet the privileged guests who visit here. Your villa exudes ultimate safari luxury, hiding refined comforts behind grass and canvas walls.  From the cool waters of your private pool or the lounge chairs on your viewing deck take in the expansive views, watching how the steady flow of the river pulls game to its banks, providing you with an ever changing show.  Your last night will find you sipping a refreshing drink (watching a nearby elephant doing the same!) while the setting sun paints a glorious picture of color across the sky, and you’ll wonder how you can possibly leave a place like this behind?  This is the magic of Africa; we’ll be ready when you come back to plan your next adventure.
