With four of the tents overlooking the Dolores River and four with amazing mountain views, you'll be hard pressed to find a less than breathtaking view among them.

Days 3, 4, 5, 6

Dunton, Colorado

On your third day, you’ll pack up and head out on an all-day hike, from Cresto Ranch to nearby Dunton Hot Springs. Trek along the world-famous Johnny Bull Trail, which boasts exquisite views of the San Juan Mountains and the surrounding wilderness. Midday brings a gourmet picnic lunch and a quick siesta. Back on the trail, you’ll soon encounter a magnificent vista on the pass as you begin your descent into the valley and the legendary ghost-town-turned-bohemian-outpost of Dunton Hot Springs, where you’ll soak your bones to reenergize for the rest of your mountain-filled stay.

Dunton Hot Springs morphed from a tiny huddle of log buildings at 8,600-feet on the West Fork of the Dolores River. Originally homesteaded in the 1880's during the mining fever which swept the valley, today the abandoned ghost town of Dunton is a small and exclusive resort nestled deep in the San Juan Mountains of the Colorado Rockies, across the mountain from Telluride and open all year. The collection of buildings are a perfect restoration of a ghost town, providing everything you didn't know you needed for a blissful escape. A time-worn saloon featuring gourmet cuisine. Six unique ways to enjoy a hot spring soak. Hiking, mountaineering, fly fishing and horseback riding in the summer months. Dog-sledding, ice skating, and skiing when the snows of winter cover the slopes. Dunton Hot Springs is a year round paradise, designed for the adventurer in each of us.
