Winterlake Lodge

After transfering to Lake Hood, the largest float plane port in North America, you will board a plane for a scenic flight to Winterlake Lodge. Prepare to be thoroughly entertained as your float plane touches down on Finger Lake. From the lake itself, you will be able to see the Trimble and Hayes Glaciers (weather permitting), as well as many species of flora and fauna. The lodge is nestled south of the famous Denali National Park and sits on part of the historic Iditarod Trail. After settling into your cozy hand-built pine cabin, feel free to kayak, canoe, fly-fish, bike, hike, or take a relaxing stroll through the property's nature trails. Later, after all of your hard work, sit down to enjoy a fantastic dinner made by award winning chefs. All your meals are included in your trip, so take advantage of the delicacies and dig in!

Winterlake Lodge

The next day, continue pleasing your tastebuds with delicious meals from the chefs. And of course, you cannot visit Alaska without your very own helicopter tour! Between refreshing meals, you will explore the wilderness, hike, fish, kayak, or dog sled, all via helicopter. There is no question that your day will be jam-packed with excitement, so you’ll be delighted to return to the lodge for a rejuvenating evening. Try a yoga class, a massage, a nice dinner, or a soak in the panoramic hot tub.

Day 4

ENJOY DELICIOUS ALASKAN CUISINE AND TOUR THE COAST BY BOAT

Tutka Bay Lodge

Wake up ready for your next day full of exploration. You will board a floatplane to head to Tutka Bay Lodge, located on Kachemak Bay. On your one-hour flight, you will fly over the top of two active volcanoes, Augustine and Redoubt. These breathtaking views are only the beginning—you'll arrive at Tutka Bay ready for more magnificent sights! Your guides will meet you as you deplane and take you to your cabin for the next two nights. Get acquainted with the new property by taking a walk on the endless decks and walkways where you can observe the water, wildlife, and the opulent vegetation.

That afternoon, sit down in the lodge to enjoy a delicious lunch. We hope you like fresh Alaskan caught salmon, halibut, or shellfish! The trained chefs love to work with fresh ingredients available in the nearby ocean or farms. After lunch, get ready to embark on your afternoon expeditions. The area has many activities to choose from. You may opt to go out on the water and sea kayak or tour the coast by boat. You may prefer to stay on land, and go hiking, beach-combing, or discover what curious creatures live in Alaska’s tidal pools.

Day 5

DEEP SEA FISH, HIKE, BIKE, OR FLY AWAY TO SEE A BEAR OR TWO

Tutka Bay Lodge

The fifth day of your trip will be spent at Tutka doing whatever you please. Choose between deep sea fishing, another heli tour to a nearby remote trailhead, or a fly-out bear viewing tour. You can always feel free to take advantage of the property and stay put for a relaxing day. You might even want to take a cooking class where you could learn how to make salmon bacon, the lodge’s specialty. No matter what we're sure you will not be disappointed by your choice. All the activities are sure to provide fun for everyone!
