Staying overnight in a cave is absolutely underrated—at least when it comes to the Iconic Santorini. Located in the Cyclades Islands of Greece, the much-photographed island of Santorini is lined with whitewashed villages, chock-full of archaeological sites and monuments and overflowing with wine. We take you there on our customizable and adventure-filled Timeless Classic itinerary to Greece.

Step into History

Habitation in the Cyclades Islands of Greece dates back as far as the 4th millennium B.C., making them among the most notable archeological sites in the world. Southeast of mainland Greece, these islands create the Aegean archipelago. Santorini is the largest and was formed by an enormous volcanic eruption, creating what is now known as the caldera. Steep cliffs exposing the layers of solidified lava line one portion of the island, while red-, black-, and white-sand beaches lie along the other. With two seasons, Santorini boasts a hot desert climate, making April to October a perfect time to visit.

Sleep like a Greek God

The 22 rooms and suites at the Iconic Santorini are inspired by the history of the area itself. Keeping true to Greek style, the whitewashed rooms are built with Cycladic architecture for a result that is authentic, simple, and not without extreme beauty. Each room boasts a spacious veranda offering views of the caldera and spots for guests to relax in blue-accented lounge chairs underneath the Aegean sun. Just one look at the photos proves this property is anything but cavelike.

...And Dine like One Too

Greece offers a wonderful array of fresh and traditional meals, and Santorini is no exception. Although there are plenty of dining options within a short distance of the Iconic, guests can also eat on site at the Pergola Restaurant, where the kitchen is open and the tables—like everything else on the property—overlook the caldera.
