OL MALO

NORTHERN FRONTIER DISTRICT, KENYA

The family owned and operated Ol Malo is a ranch and wildlife sanctuary in Kenya’s wild Northern Laikipia Province, the heartland of the Samburu tribe.

Situated on the northern edge of the Laikipia Plateau, nestled into a rugged escarpment looking out across the time-honored lands of Kenya's Northern Frontier District, Ol Malo is a thatched-roof oasis. The dream of Kenyan-born pair Colin and Rocky Francombe, the two transformed the property from what was once an overgrazed cattle ranch into a visceral retreat for those looking for a true African safari experience.

While retaining a feeling of a small, boutique lodge, there are two ways to stay at Ol Malo—in the cottages or the six-bedroom house. Expect daily game drives as well as unexpected activities such as fishing, medicinal plant walks, and learning how to survive like a Samburu. No matter what you do while at Ol Malo, you'll be living life by a different rhythm, and enjoying every second.
